A couple in England had the surprise of a lifetime when they discovered a stash of rare coins underneath the kitchen floorboards during a renovation project. The haul of rare coins were recently sold at auction for $852,380 against a provisional sale estimate of $231,390. According to The Yorkshire Post, the coins have been linked to a Hull merchant family, the Maisters. Spink and SonHe explained that while it’s ordinary for rare coins to be sold at auction, the unique history of these coins and their amazing discovery made the sale extraordinary. Still, he hopes that it won’t cause people to start renovating their homes in hopes of making a similar discovery.
Blink-182’s members Tom DeLonge, Mark Hoppus and Travis Barker are reuniting for their first tour together in nearly 10 years. Blink-182 also announced that they’re coming out with a new song called “Edging,” which is set to be released on Friday. Their new tune marks the first time in a decade that Barker, Hoppus and DeLonge have been in the studio together. This tour is a special moment for the band as it’s a homecoming for DeLonge, who parted ways with Blink-182 in 2015. In fact, in 2019, he told Rolling Stone that he thinks there will “absolutely” be a time when they play together again.
Michaela Coel knows how important it is to have queer representation on-screen. In an Oct. 6 interview with Vogue, Coel talked about her character Aneka, a captain and combat instructor in “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,” and revealed she decided to play the fearless warrior after learning her character was queer. “That sold me on the role, the fact that my character’s queer,” Coel said.
